False Starwort Root (Tai Zi Shen)

False Starwort Root

Botanical name: Pseudostellaria heterophylla
Also known as: Tai Zi Shen

False starwort is a root with a long history in traditional Chinese botanical preparations. Its mild, earthy character makes it suitable for a simmered botanical decoction or a custom herb blend.

Available forms: Cut and sifted root and powder.

Ways to prepare:

• Simmer the cut root in water as a decoction.
• Add to a botanical blend with other roots.

Color, aroma, and appearance may vary naturally between harvests.
