Agaricus Blazei is a functional mushroom native to the Piedade region of Brazil, where it was first noted growing wild, and now cultivated in Japan and the United States. It belongs to the same genus as the common button mushroom — Agaricus — though it is a distinct species with its own character: sweeter, almost almond-like in aroma, and traditionally prepared as a tea rather than eaten fresh.
